overall personality,
Duskfoot is an emotionally sturdy tom. Although his past was dotted with tragedy and some misfortunes, he handles it as best he can with his head held high. He's too proud to admit to any emotional weakness he may feel, so more often than not other cats tend to see him as a 'strong, silent type' even though he is fairly talkative. He doesn't talk about himself often, keeping a lot of conversation more on the surface than anything else. He'll talk about anything; the weather, prey, training, patrols, etc. but that's the extent of involving himself. It winds up hurting him in the end because he doesn't feel he can trust the cats that surround him with what goes on in his head and heart. He trusts them in battle and as fellow clanmates, but not with matters of emotions.
He's a fierce cat in terms of temper and loyalty to his clan. Although he can have a long fuse in certain situations--like, if it involves kits or apprentices--it's not always easy for him to step back and allow himself to breathe. He can bit bitingly sarcastic and sometimes ends up hurting feelings, though he's a bit too stubborn to admit he went too far and apologize. However, he is loyal to Fireclan and has every intention of sticking by that until he breathes his last breath. He wants to see the clan thrive and do well for themselves, even when/if they are ever at odds with the other cats of the forest. Temper aside, he has a square head on his shoulders and is decent at making decisions and tries to ensure that choices will benefit everyone involved. Sometimes it doesn't but he tries to do his best. Despite some of his other traits, he is a surprisingly humble tom. He has his moments of arrogance but more often than not he doesn't see anything about himself that greatly surpasses the others around him.
He's focused, likes to train, and it's difficult to deter him from achieving any goal he has set for himself. Being distracted can make him irritable but he'll get over it soon enough. Not to mention he tends to miss important details about others or his surroundings, too. Duskfoot is not adept at reading another cats' emotions and tends to pass over them unless they point out that there is something wrong. He's a good listener and doesn't mind lending an ear to his fellow clan cat, but he probably won't be the one asking 'what's wrong?' unless he knows the cat well enough to notice a difference. The tom is very dependable though; if you need help with something he'll try and be there the best he can.

mother, Hollytail
father, Goosefeather [deceased]
siblings, Poppywhisker [sister], nettlenose [brother]
others of importance, Brambletail [mentor--deceased]
overall history,
He was born with two other kittens, his brother Nettlenose and his sister Poppywhisker. His mother, Hollytail, became a queen quite early in her warriorship with the clan, and is once again a warrior now that her kits are old enough to fend for themselves. She did consider having another litter, but Goosfeather, her mate, and Brambletail, Duskfoot's mentor, were both killed by a badger about two moons into apprenticeship. The incident hit Duskfoot the hardest, because he witnessed the attack first hand. Goosefeather and Brambletail had taken Duskpaw and two other warriors out of camp for a border patrol when the badger came bursting through the underbrush in a flurry of black and white. The tom told his son to run but by the time he turned tail and tried to head back to camp, he heard his father cry out. He turned to see Goosefeather fall to the ground in a sickly slump. Duskpaw had been frozen in place, blue eyes staring at his father's lifeless body. Brambletail and the other two warriors was still attempting to fight the badger off. "Get back to camp!" The tom shouted. "Go and get help!"
Pulling himself out of the stupor, the young cat took off towards camp without even looking back. He told the rest of the clan what was happening and any able bodied warrior streamed out of the camp and towards their clan mates. The warriors managed to chase the badger off their territory, but not after losing Duskfoot's father and injuring two others, one of them being his mentor. Brambletail had a large gash on his side from the swipe of the badger paw, the other a slice in her ear. The tom's injury was great; the medicine cat tried to do her best to stop the bleeding and close the wound, but there was only so much she could do. Duskpaw sat in the medicine cats' den and watched as his mentor's life slipped away, the light gone from his golden eyes. The vigils for his father and Brambletail were consecutive; Duskpaw was up for two nights straight sitting for his fallen family and mentor. He was not quite the same after that incident. Cats think he's always grumpy--and sometimes he can be--but it's mostly him avoiding building friendships and relationships with others because he wonders if they will end up just like his father and mentor in the end.
After apprenticeship and on into his time as a warrior, things have been going decently well despite the past and Duskfoot hopes he never has to relive those events ever again. He and his siblings do not talk much now, though he's still as loyal to them as ever. It's just difficult to connect to other cats.
