Featherpaw "Hm... borage leaves and roots are used for fever. If there are no seeds, then borage leaves are used for the flow of milk in expecting queens." The she-cat murmured these things to herself as she looked at the herbs she knew, identifying them and their uses. "Alder bark... used for toothaches." Her eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to remember how it was applied. It was important to remember how herbs were applied as well as what they remedied. Accidentally apply a herb the wrong way and a cat could loose his or her life. That was one thing she didn't want to be the cause of. "Erm... Twistedleg, how is alder bark applied again?" She asked this with a tinge of doubt. Her memory wasn't the best today, and the one question she only had because the way of applying alder bark was avoiding her.

Twistedleg The brown tabby had been sitting back, watching his apprentice from the side of his vision while sunning himself in the filtered light of day. Her murmurings would occasionally penetrate the tom's hearing and he would make mental note of each thing heard. The young she-cat was doing well in her training as of late, and he had confidence that Featherpaw would make a good medicine cat one day. At the feminine mew, Twistedleg opened his eyes fully and looked directly into her's. With a serene blink, the tom-cat mewed, "Well, if alder bark is used to help with tooth aches, what would make more sense when applying?" He answered her question with another question, countering her confusion to make her use her mind. It was the best way he knew in helping remember something, for he believed that things stuck best in one's mind if they figured the answer out for themselves.
